Our Story

When I was in high school, my parents decided it was time to invest in a new piano. With a budget in mind, they searched for months, until they stumbled upon an estate sale hosted by a woman who adored the arts. So much so, in fact, that she had purchased a cherry red baby grand piano to match one of her favorite paintings. That red piano became the heart of our home, and unknowingly, the beginning of something much bigger.

Not long after, I started teaching a few neighborhood kids out of our living room as a freshman at Oakland University. By year two, we’d grown to a team of seven incredible instructors, teaching every instrument to every age group. In our third year, we opened the doors to our first storefront at 1049 John R. Road, where we continue our mission of offering excellent music education to every student who walks through our doors. By 2022, we opened our 2nd location in downtown Oxford, and most recently, our 3rd location in downtown Royal Oak.

All of our instructors, including myself, are current or recent grads from local university music programs. We’re not only highly trained musicians—we’re passionate educators who love what we do. We want students to not only have an exceptional music teacher, but a mentor and guide too. 

At Red Piano Music Studio, our goal is simple: to provide innovative, creative, and student-centered education in the arts. We believe every student deserves a space to explore their creativity, build confidence, and fall in love with music.
